Hayes grounds out. Good thing this game wasn’t critical to the Pirates playoff hopes. It was crushing enough without that. The bullpen did such a great job until the 8th. Ugly loss.

Still nice not looking at team record and seeing them 40 games under .500. Big improvement from last season and I'd like to think the future is bright but I thought that after the 2018 season.

Why did Shelby come into pitch instead of Carmen? I think they want to lose to hurt the Cubs chances of taking a Wild Card spot.
