Tucker is basically minor league insurance for the Rockies. He hit well in the minors for them and was 3 for 8 with the Rockies. But when Blackmon came off the IL, Tucker was DFA'd. Tucker will likely clear waivers and probably go back to the Rockies AAA.fjk090852-7 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 10:28 pm Cole Tucker was designated for assignment today by the Rockies.

Swaggerty signed a minor league deal with the White Sox
Re: The Departed
Austin Hedges has now been with Texas for over 2 weeks. In that time, he has started 1 game. He has appeared in 3 other games as a late inning defensive replacement. Jonah Heim and Mitch Garner are ahead of him on the depth chart. Hedges is taking up a spot on the roster as a seldom-used 3rd catcher with phenomenal pitch framing skills that would make him a s tarter on a lesser team. Gotta wonder if he'll last the season with the Rangers.

Fun fact: Bill Mazeroski is ahead of both Ralph Kiner and Dave Parker on the Pirates career RBI list.

I noticed from the box score that Rich Hill pitched in relief last night for the Padres. I guess they have removed him from the rotation.
