Two All-Star pitchers have gone to hell lately, What are we to do? I can't complain about Bednar's competitiveness but he has to know that sometimes he needs to sit in the save situation. Maybe move him out of the closer role for a few weeks.

Another largely unimpressive game by Keller. On one hand, it's fair to say he retired 8 of his last 9 hitters. But on closer look:

3 of 6 batters reached on a HR, HBP and double in the 1st.

2 of 4 reached on 2 singles (although one was a misplay by Peguero) in the 2nd.

4 of the first 5 batters reached on 2 singles, a double and a single in the 3rd. At that point, he got the last 2 out and began his 8 of 9 outs stretch.

He lasted only 5 innings, threw 91 pitches, gave up 3 runs (ERA 5.40 for the game), a HR, a double, 7 singles and a HBP.

The last time he had a quality start was July 8. In his 5 starts since then:
