Well they showed some signs of life in the first...just need 8 more innings of the same, plus 8 or 9 straight games after that and we're right back in this thing... :-/

Really impressed with Williams. It's a shame the error on his first batter is the difference right now.

Can Watson get 3 more stinkin outs and snap this losing streak, and at least give the Pirates a pulse going into this Reds series this weekend.

Raise it finally. The Pirates get one and pull back within 4.5 games of the Cards. A loss tonight and falling 6.5 back would have definitely ended all hope. While it's still probably not looking great it at least gives you some hope if you can somehow sweep 4 from the Reds.

WAY TONY!! Really happy for him.

Some good stuff tonight. I like the way they hung in there tonight especially after being down in the 1st.

Traver Williams really good. And Jung Ho showing us who he really is.

The nightmare is over.

One game too late.

I was certain the Pirates would win tonight ... now that it no longer matters (realistically).

SO frustrating ... If the Watson had just held the lead last Monday in Chicago and then again last night -- Games 1 and 8 of the losing streak -- if the Pirates had just not blown those two games and still lost SIX STRAIGHT in between, they would be only 1.5 games out right now. Incredible.

Instead it's 4.5. Just not realistic, especially since they trail TWO teams by 4.5

It's over ... unless tonight was the first of about 10 wins in a row.

Last night's game was an absolute killer. If we had just won last night we'd be 2.5 back now.

The Pirates would have to go 18-7 to finish 86-76. A team that is playing .496 baseball is not going to go 18-7.

Even if they somehow did that, both the Cards (12-12) and the Mets (11-11) would have to play .500 ball down the stretch for the Pirates to get it. If either team plays better than .500 (and surely one of them will), then the Pirates have virtually no chance.
