Quintana to Cards?
he Cardinals are finalizing a deal to acquire starter José Quintana from the Pirates, reports Jeff Passan of ESPN (Twitter link). St. Louis has been on the hunt for additions to their starting rotation, and they’re nearing agreement to add an intra-divisional opponent.

I think the Pirates missed the boat by not trading Quintana and Bednar to the Yanks. They could have received what the A’s got.
Maybe even getting Dominguez from the Yanks
I don’t think we will be getting much from the Cards

Yea don’t like this deal it’s dumb. With what these teams have been giving up for pitching like you said Jolly Roger they could have gotten a lot back from the Yankees had they went all in possibly even Dominguez like you mentioned as well.

Sources: Johan Oviedo and Malcom Nuñez are the players who are going to Pirates in José Quintana trade. Both cubans players.

Oviedo has a 3.20 ERA mostly out of the pen this yr. Was a starter before ‘22 and also in AAA this yr, so we’ll see what Pirates want to do w/ him
Nuñez is a 22-yr old corner INF at AA. Should slide in as a top-20 prospect for Bucs. Hitting .255 with 17 homers in 85 games at AA twitter.com/francysromerof…

Oviedo's stats 24 years old, 2-9 in majors , decent in Cards bullpen this season https://www.baseball-reference.com/regi ... iedo000joh
Malcolm Nunez in AA, first and third baseman, only 21, 17 homers 255 average this season

In division trades are so rare you would think the Cards had to give us a little more than someone else to swing the deal. The scouting report on the Cards site said that Nunez was a little too aggressive at the plate in the past, but his numbers this year would suggest he has increased his patience as he is walking a lot more and has a really decent OBP. Love it if Oviedo might have starter potential, he is only 24.
