2. Bryan Reynolds (S) CF

3. Ke'Bryan Hayes (R) 3B

4. Ben Gamel (L) DH

5. Cal Mitchell (L) RF

6. Greg Allen (S) LF

7. Oneil Cruz (L) SS

8. Josh VanMeter (L) 1B

9. Jason Delay (R) C

Bryse Wilson (R) SP

Cubs

1. Rafael Ortega (L) CF

2. Willson Contreras (R) DH

3. Seiya Suzuki (R) RF

4. Ian Happ (S) LF

5. Nico Hoerner (R) SS

6. Patrick Wisdom (R) 3B

7. Yan Gomes (R) C

8. Alfonso Rivas (L) 1B

9. Christopher Morel (R) 2B

Keegan Thompson (R) SP

The very versatile Van Meter is in the 8th spot today after being in the leadoff spot yesterday. The "Nincompoop" Shelton does not realize that Van Meter's versatility does not include being able to hit!

Baseball Logic 101, First Principle:

Josh VanMeter is to Derek Shelton as Abraham Nunez is to Lloyd McLendon.

Though it's a nice gesture, I'm tired of seeing players who are sure to be traded serenaded with applause, especially top notch players.

Cubs fans should be furious, with the money that franchise has and to let all those guys go is insane. Nothing to cheer about IMHO

Uh oh, looks like we might be headed to another 18-2 disaster.

Reynolds strikes out looking with a man on second after being up 3-0 in the count.

The Pirates have been a tough watch so far in the second half.
