There is always this discussion. Cardinal fans love him. He has the Gokd Gloves. Is Molina a Hall of Famer?

I think he will because of the praise and hype he receives. I don't think he should get in and no way first ballot.



He doesn't have 2,000 hits, only four seasons with 10+ HRs and an OPS under .800.

Yogi Berra, Carlton Fisk, Johnny Bench, and Gary Carter are only catchers in Hall with more than 2000 hits. Fisk has most with 2356. Bench, Berra and Carter also played at other positions.



that being said, Molina would be one of weakest offensive catchers in Hall but better than Ray Schalk and maybe Rick Ferrell. Six Hall of Fame catchers have less hits than Molina and he will most likely pass Ernie Lombardi in hits this season.

He won't get in on hitting alone. But he's a great defensive catcher. Good at working with pitchers. 4-time leader in caught stealing including an amazing 64% in 2005. Career 41% CS. 8 Gold Gloves. Career. 284 hitter and 5 times hit over .300. He's a good offensive player and probably the best defensive catcher of his era.
