All right! Here we are. Winter meetings start tonight. NH went for the sun and fun. Does anyone think the BC will be making any trades? Or is it too soon for him to decide how to remake the team?

For the first time in many years I will be following the Winter Meeting closely. Mostly to see what BC does and also to see how the big-time FAs will set up their next contracts and with whom they might sign. I hope the BC and his crew go there with their thinking caps on and like NH and his crew wearing dunce caps.

Doesn't seem likely to get in, but Dave Parker's on the ballot for the veterans committee that meets today.

MLB is doing a special show on him - The Cobra at Twilight (or something like that). That might help his chances - a little advertising at the perfect time.

So far the Pirates have been very quiet at the Winter Meetings. I am surprised they haven’t at least signed another coach or two. Usually teams begin to depart the meetings shortly after the Rule 5 Draft which will be Thursday morning. Possibly later today,or tomorrow there will be some announcements.

I saw a tweet that names have been exchanged in a potential deal with the Mets for Marte.
