It is being reported 2 pitchers and an outfielder are being sent to the Pirates for Stallings. Zach Thompson, Nicholas and Connor Scott are the three players.

Somebody tell me if I'm supposed to be happy or not with this return.

I know that Stallings is over 30 and likely would never be part of a winning Pirate team (as if any current player on the Pirates will be), but it is really disappointing to see him traded.

Thompson doesn't do all that much for me, but the two prospects at least were high draft picks.

Jacob, you will be missed. Thanks for giving it your all in Pittsburgh.

Also, we now have no catchers on the 40 man roster. Can Moran catch?

Stallings' trade value off a GG year would never have been higher. He doesn't hit much. Don't know anything about these three players, but I have no problem with them trading him in principle.

Thompson drafted by the Pirates in the 48th round of the 2011 draft. Didn't sign and went to Texas-Arlington. Looks like he may have been a backup plan if Glasnow or Holmes didn't sign.

Sounds like it's a done deal.

I like the deal. I like Stallings and he has value behind the plate. He's 32 and Henry Davis will take over in about 2 years.

Thompson could be in the starting rotation.

Scott looks liike a good prospect.

They must think Nicolas has potential.

I hate to see Stallings go. I think he could have been a good placeholder for the young hurlers coming up this season and until Davis is ready for the Bigs. It was nice seeing and knowing you Jacob, best of luck.

This one has me scratching my head. It's not like we have a replacement
