Running that ball down in the first inning definitely tired him out

Let me dream for a minute and edit that for you: "Polanco is getting the rest of the season off."

Snap out of dream. Even after two years of Ben, Polanco's still better than any of the rest of his replacements.

Nov 18, 2019. That's when Cherington was hired. IIRC correctly, there was no minor league season in 2020 in which to evaluate what your beloved NH left him. There was however, a truncated 60 game season (that followed a truncated spring training), one in which you will find you have made comments along the line of "could care less....not worth following.....don't follow the playoffs".
So instead of reacting willy nilly with little to go on, this spring training, and this season, are his FIRST season in which to not only "see what they have" but also to see "what everyone else has". You know, that scouting stuff, where they see actual baseball players playing actual baseball, and not some fancy high tech baseball workout lab.
Now that things have finally become closer to normal, BC has been constantly working to improve the entire organization.
At the end of this season, two things I will provide you:
1. A calendar (just google "2021 calendar" so as not to try and claim someone didn't pay up or something)
2. The Pirates winning percentage compared to last years squad. From that comparison, we can see if the team actually improved, regressed, or just treaded water.
At the very least, he still has almost three months to complete "two years".

Brubaker with a 1-2-3 first inning. That's nice. Let's get him a lead
