Yes. There's nothing wrong with taking a flier on various marginal players. Especially when the owner won't approve paying for established players. But they have to be able to jettison the ones who don't impress them. That looks like what they are doing.

Cole Hamels became a cautionary tale once again, though it only cost the Dodgers 1 million, not 18 million. At some point I have to think, Hamels may be swindling people. I wonder who's next?

Yep - $19,000,000 for a grand total of 3.1 innings for 2020 & 2021 combined. And I'd bet someone will take a chance on him next year as well.
