Whitley Suspended 50 Games

Forrest Whitley who was a player rumored in the Cole deal was suspended 50 games for a drug related matter. I am now glad he was not included in that deal.

Yep sign Huntington for another 10 years for not including him the Cole deal and for the Bryce Brentz pickup yesterday. Simply phenomenal.

I assume they (Houston, Pittsburgh) knew it was going down and the probable outcome.

Who knows? Remember how Marte knew he was to be suspended an kept it from the team? I hope Whitley at last let it be known.

if he's still a better prospect, I'd still take the better guy minus fifty games.

I agree, but how risky that is depends on whether he learns from his mistakes or keeps making them.

Are they allowed to be traded under suspension?

I would still take him too even with the huge risk of missing an season in the future looms.

Doesn’t matter because Neal Huntington has proved he has absolutely no clue at all how to acquire other teams top prospects for his top players. It’s always “well we tried to get this guy or that guy but it didn’t work out. Huntington is all talk and no action as far as I’m concerned. My opinion of him has really went completely down the toilet after this last off-season. He is not the GM that is gonna turn this team around again and get them back to the playoffs.

This article says not a single top 100 prospect has been traded this off season. Teams are reluctant to part with them.
