We're beginning to see the real Shreve. An 8 year veteran who had only brief success in MLB but was looking good for the Pirates. The nature of relief pitching is that they usually pitch no more than 1 inning or less per outing. So it's often hard to tell if they aren't giving up runs because they are good or they aren't giving up runs because they were pulled before they could. Shreve had been pitching uncharacteristically well but has now been scored upon in 4 of his last 6 outings.

Reds now lead in the series 27-7. But fortunately we have 1 more game tomorrow to make up that run differential.
