Baseball oddities
So as there is absolutely nothing to talk about on the lockout, I was reading through some stuff. I think this type of thread has been started before, but if so, consider the reboot to be a new source of fun factoids/oddities.
So here's one to get it started:
From the mlb site-There have been 15 unassisted triple plays in major league history. There has only been one in the postseason, game 5 of the 1920 World Series between the Cleveland Indians and the Brooklyn Robins. It was turned by Bill Wambsganss of Cleveland in the fifth inning.
What I find most odd about this one are two things: it was the first game ever in the World Series where a grand slam was hit; And now, neither team goes by those monikers.

This is a fairly well known oddity but nobody struck out in game 7 of the 1960 WS.

Babe Ruth hit three home runs in a World Series game twice before he ever hit three home runs in a regular season game.

In 1972, (I was a mere pup) Gene Tenace hit 4 HR in the 7- game World Series after hitting only 5 during the regular season.
I guess some Harry Hooper guy hit 2 HRs in the 1915 series after hitting only 2 during regular season.

Along with Duffy Lewis and Tris Speaker, Harry Hooper made up what some baseball historians believe is the greatest outfield in history. He was a great player.

That Spahn thing isn’t so unusual; I have 0 career wins and 0 career hits.

Which is why you and Spahn are so often mentioned together.
