If Pirates signed Nova, definitely a step in right direction. Trade for Quintana, &they're a playoff team.

Nice.  While I wonder how much of his second half with us was the "real thing" you can't argue with the deal. 



It does make me a tad anxious wondering what the other teams were seeing/weren't seeing to make this a bigger signing, but even at his Yankee levels nothing wrong with this.  That's basically Charlie Morton money, isn't it?

I think they got him less for his last half of a year, but for his lifetime 4.30 ERA and similar 4.26 FIP. Those are really solid numbers for the back of a rotation with the upside that he doesn't walk guys and like the end of last year.

Yeah, nothing wrong with that. Imagine if we had another one of those boring types of guys the past few seasons.
