Glasnow definitely deserves another start. I though his control was fine today and he showed great poise the entire time he pitched. He will definitely have better days then this. Leave him in the rotation after the break.

Glasnow not ready yet. Yes, his command is kinda not so good at times but what gets me and it was pointed out by Walkie on the telecast was that Glasnow waved off Fryer. Seemed that Fryer was calling for some heat when the count was a hitters count but Glasnow wanted to go to the breaking ball. Seems that is what he was able to get over for strikes but it was almost always dead center when he threw it. Glasnow has to learn to trust his catcher and especially one who has seen the Cards hit a ton of times this year. That is the kind of stuff that I hope he learns from today. Otherwise not a bad start.

Cutch... I don't know what to do but he's hurting this team.

I'll be interested to see what they do with him before his next start. I can't figure out why he didn't trust is fastball more as it didn't seem like the Cards could lock into it. He became almost predictable in when he would throw the curve, and boy did he hang a few. I would assume he'd get some advice to trust his catcher more ... and his fastball too.

I watched the game today and don't remember seeing Glasnow throw a change-up. Did I miss one? His stuff definitely plays in the Bigs, but as Possum pointed out he favored his curve a little too much and grooved it a little too often. If he's able to fine tune his pitch location I think he's gonna be real good. In the mean time he's a better pitcher than at least a couple of our current starters.

I'm optimistic.

Didn't get to watch, but I listened. It sounds like Glasnow performed well enough, but got hit hard on the hits he yielded. 2 BB in 5.1 IP is acceptable. I'll call it an ok debut.

I'll be interested to see his pitch usage on fangraphs tomorrow. He needs that change to hit his ceiling. I'd like to see him sent down tomorrow and given a couple more AAA starts to work on the pitch now that he has a taste of major league hitting. Josh Bell would be called up to replace him.

We're the (hard) hits from guys sitting on the curve because they didn't have to worry about a change? I didn't see the game.

I would love to see all the AAA guys going forward. Thought Brault pitched well last night too. They will have some jitters, it should be expected. Kuhl looks like a keeper too

Was a real good first start.   Cutch played a single into a double in the 5th and caminero gave up the 3 run shot to make his line look poor.

5.1- 4 baserunners 5 strikeouts and had the pitch count to go 6.   Sending him down for another 10 or so innings in AAA  after 450+ minor league innings isn't going to do anything worthwhile.

This will make him much better.   And he has Searage now, right!?     Keep him up!     Get Niese out of here

i believe had caminero done his job instead of goating the 5th the headline would be what an awesome start he had.   The line is real good.

Honestly he came with an eyelash (a WP that probably should have been blocked) of taking a 1-hit shutout into the 5th.

I thought he was very good and his final line was in no way a reflection of how he looked.

Does he have areas that he needs to improve/refine -- YES. But he's gonna be real good real soon.
