Now that Hayes is staring to turn around offensively it’s time to turn our angst to Santana. Like Hayes Santana has been great defensively but his offensive numbers are poor for a 1B.

Hitting .225 with only 4 HR.

On TV it looks like it's pouring there. I can't believe they're playing this game. It's the first of six games the Pirates have in Chicago. Plenty of opportunities to make this one up. Someone is going to roll an ankle or pull a muscle or something.

8-3 Cubs now as this one is just about over most likely. Missed another opportunity to pick up a full game and go 2 games up on the Brewers. The Reds won again tonight and are now only 2.5 games back of the Pirates for 1st place.

I don't like those Reds in my rear view mirror, and I'd like them in front of me even less. I know, because it seems as though they've been one or the other my entire life.
