21 mill a year. This is a gamble to me. If he works out, the Cubs rotation is ridiculous. Quintana would be #4. Chatwood would be a #5.

I was hoping the dude would land in Milwaukee or Minnesota so I can lambaste someone.

I don't know if this was sarcasm or anything. It doesn't really do anything for the Pirates as far as making it more challenging. Darkish or not with the Cubs ... there is still a huge difference. It just means we probably have two or three more losses in the column. It doesn't change out outlook as far as competing for anything but fourth at best in the division.

Cubs let Arrieta go and sign Darvish. I think that's a downgrade.

I think most folks think Darvish is better (at least over time).  Arrieta showed signs of decline last year.

Arietta gave up 8 hits per nine compared to 6.3 the year before. His homer rate went up to 1.2 (almost as much as Cole's 1.4) from .7 the year before. Darvish had 3.8 war last year and Arietta 1.9. Bothe were borne in 1986

I don't think we can really say the Darvish signing is good until we know for sure if he's in the best shape of his life, like Gregory Polanco.

I mean, did you see those pictures of Polanco? He was working out to the point where he was sweating. How many other major league baseball players can say that they exercise?
