Available Free Agents Continues to Dwindle

With the start of the season getting closer, the number of free agents is quite understandably getting even thinner.



Two former Pirate relievers remain available --- Rich Rodriguez and Tony Watson. Not sure how much either still has to offer, as the Braves clearly soured on Rodriguez at the end of the season, and when I've seen Watson pitch his stats often seemed better than his actual performance. Nonetheless, perhaps signing one of the above could add some stability to the pen and if they perform, a minor trade chip come mid-season.



Not too excited about any of the other players, unless a talent evaluator believes Happ has the ability to rebound.



I often prefer left-over turkey and stuffing than eating such on Thanksgiving day, but the above approach likely doesn't translate well to signing ballplayers.
