I know that my remark might sound mean spirited. I am kidding around honest. I wish no harm to Bottom Line Bob, but would really like to see our ballclub have a more supportive owner. Just my two cents in this politically correct age we live in...

My idea for the Pirates making a player acquisition prior to Piratesfest was wrong. Some teams have made moves today, but another business day is about to pass and the Pirates continue to not add a major league player to their roster.

Maybe he was on the west coast trying to speak to some investors to purchase the Pirates. Wouldn’t that be a belated Christmas present!

I'm still thinking this is negotiating and keep expecting them to add a veteran shortstop when those guys get desperate and the demands fall to what NH likes.

At this time it surely appears they intend to use Gonzalez and Newman at shortstop. Possibly if demands drop they may sign another pitcher, but I think they feel they are set at shortstop.

sorta off the topic....i had a co-worker show me a picture of their grand kid sitting on a bed full of Pirates gear and collectibles from Pirates Fest. Do you really get that much from going there? It would have filled up my queen size bed and then some. I was shocked the amount of stuff they took home. I have always wanted to go, but im in half of a boycott mode right now LOL

Stop handing out collectibles and start handing out some FA contracts.
