New name, similarity in logo, Tom Hanks announcing on a video. I was hoping for Spiders. Guardians, don't ask me why I think this I don't know myself, sounds better for a football team.

Yeah I liked Spiders too.

"Naps" is also historical but don't think that would have gone over very well.

The Guardians of Traffic! That conjures up exciting images of cars stuck in bumper to bumper traffic jams. It's outrageous, egregious, preposterous! It's definitely preposterous.

I was hoping for the Cleveland Rockers.

They have the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Drew Carey made "Cleveland Rocks" his theme song. He could have tossed out the first pitch next year.

Guardians sounds like a tribute to home security systems. Maybe they're projecting a continuing increase in crime.

Somehow, I picture an 80's kind of cartoon with gladiators sporting Dutch Boy haircuts.

I'd be careful naming stuff after statues too. Those don't seem to have a great shelf life recently.

Thought the very same thing. To me, a really bad choice. I hope their fans scream bloody loud and force them to try again.
