Bucs Sign Shelby Miller To A Minor League Contract

According to Jason Mackey the Bucs have signed Shelby Miller to a minor league contract. He will report to AAA once he passes COVID-19 protocols.

According to Jason Mackey the Pirates are going to add Miller to the roster on Tuesday.

There is an open spot on the 40 man roster since Polanco is gone. They do have to open a spot on the 26 man roster. Possibly Chavis or Hayes could go on the IL if their injuries require time off.

Looks like they added Park with Chavis to the IL. Miller, Evans, and Kranick are on the taxi squad. Kranick starts today, so they might add him and Miller then option Kranick after the game for Evans.

I can see them sending Kranick down but do they need a taxi squad now? Can't roster be 28 rather than 26?

They stopped having one a few months ago. I think they were on it because they joined the team in Chicago, and would be activated over the next few days.
