Draft 2022

Post by JollyRoger »

Now that the 2021 draft is over; as long as the Bucs can sign their top 4 picks then it will go down as one of the best drafts on paper.

I’m sure the Bucs will receive an A or A+ on their draft rating.

Now they need to turn their attention to the 2022 draft with a single goal. Overtake the Arizona Diamondbacks and get that #1 again. It will take a significant tank job but we all know the Bucs are capable of that. The 2022 prize would be Elijah Green!

How would a stronger (initially) Barry Bonds look in our lineup!

We should tank in 2022 and 2023 so that we can get the #1 pick in the 2023 and 2024 drafts.

sounds like a plan. Should produce a pennant contending team by 2028 (unless something goes wrong).

Seriously...I'd rather finish dead last than 15th. Top pick, but as we see this year, more importantly, more bonus pool money.

With Frazier gone, Rich Rod gone, Anderson gone, and possibly Gamel and Stratton too, we may be really competitive in that race.

This could be an August to forget.

There is no possible circumstance that would allow me to want to finish 30th in favor of finishing 15th.

We're what now- 27th? 28th? No thanks. When it's June and I'm wishing the season was alread over, that's not for me. When it's May and thinking of which of our few good players will be dumped? I'll pass on that.

The only time that 30th is better than 15th is when you're near 30th and want to feel better about it.

Will there be a 2022 season? With the CBA up for debate, the chances are less then 100%

That's a good point. Let's hope that reasonable minds exist.
