Did you see the run-down in the Yankees-Orioles game this weekend? The Orioles catcher and Manager were the only people who knew the rule. Jerry Meals was the crew chief and after the game said he was wrong with the call.
I don't understand how this man is the crew chief. I also find it very bad that the other three umpires didn't know the rule either. I know it was a very strange play and I still don't fully understand it, but the umpires should know the rules. With all the talk of an electronic strike zone, umpires can't be making these mistakes.
