So is Luplow an actual, professional outfielder by trade, or does he just pretend to be one like Osuna and Jaso? Please tell me he's a real outfielder.

bucsdugout posted a short article on this yesterday. They suggest Danny Ortiz coming off the 40-man --

"The 40-man move is hardly a problem, as Danny Ortiz is currently taking up a spot. Luplow would have to be added after this season anyway to protect him from the Rule 5 draft. Presumably, a pitcher will go to AAA as the Pirates currently are carrying 13. The obvious candidates are Steve Brault and A.J. Schugel."

Gee, it's only July 27 and the best management team in baseball already realized they need 3 outfielders on the roster. These guys are really on top of things!

Just a thought about Luplow recall. If I remember correctly Moises Alou played a game or two with the Bucs prior to being traded to the Expos in the Zane Smith deal. Could Luplow be part of a possible trade which the Pirates are working on ?

Interesting thought but I don't know what a team could see from Luplow in a few days that they haven't already seen from scouting him in the minors if they have been interested. I looked up an old Post Gazette article when Alou was called up. They sent down Orlando Merced because he wasn't hitting and not getting much PT. They were going to face a lot of LHP and brought up the RH hitting Alou who had been hitting well in AAA. He was only in 2 games so it doesn't appear they were showcasing him.

I'm pleased with this. He went from a fringe prospect to a big leaguer.

Some were mention Colin Moran on the trade thread. This is the kind of player I'd deal for him.

No offense, but if NH called up the Stros and offered Luplow for Moran, with no one else involved, the Astros would think it was a crank call.  ;D

Would love to have Moran, but it will take a lot more than Luplow. I'm thinking maybe Cole.
