Nationals are reporting that J.Benoit has a forearm strain. He will not be ready for opening day. He must have had that injury when he was with the Bucs last year because he was down right awful.

Had to laugh a few days ago watching the Pirates on the other team's broadcast and they mentioned that the Pirates had lost several key players from last year including Cutch, Cole..... and Benoit!

Mark Melancon is still experiencing pain from last seasons surgery. He may end up on the DL to open the season. It is so risky signing veteran pitchers to financially long term contracts.
