Slow end on this Friday at the work front...What nicknames of Pirates are your favorites? List the nickname and the player!
Something to pass the time while Pirates Front Office counts their pennies to acquire starting pitching help...

Can't resist...former Bucco's 3rd baseman, shortstop and 2nd sacker from the late 70's and a heck of a manager of another NL Rival
Scrap Iron---Phil Garner...Talk about playing and leaving it all on the field. Phil was awesome! And a decent guy!

I liked Mike "the hit man" Easler and will always like the Cobra. Scrap Iron is probably the best for fitting the player and the team. Although Chris Berman got old, I thought Bert "be home" Blyleven was funny.

About "Angry Puppy", I think I was watching the Pirates play the Cubs and the announcer mentioned his nickname and that they were calling his son angry puppy but I don't know for sure if that was accurate or just an announcer with a word play. I just always remembered that I thought that was funny.
