Should have used De Los Santos

Bednar has not done well in non save situations.

Dumb move by Shelty

Now he most likely will not be available tomorrow
He was already hot, if he doesn't use him, he isn't going to be able to go tomorrow anyhow.

Now, De Los Santos is the freshest guy for tomorrow

Fitting that Wong made the last out. 2 out of 3 in Milwaukee makes doc's weekend

It’s exciting to continue to see the young guys on this roster contribute to wins. This team is close. The pieces are slowly falling into place and their is so much talent still to come that’s almost ready in the Minor League’s. Gotta figure out the pitching as well but I really believe this team has a chance to be pretty good next season and dare I say play around .500 and maybe compete for a 3rd wildcard spot. They are very close.

I’d be okay with that because the DH role is best suited for a veteran hitter. He wouldn’t be taking at bats away from the young guys and I agree that he’d be a real good role model for them.

I am not opposed, the Bucs have an option for a low contract and if he can hit 235 with 20 homers he is worth it. He will probably come close to doing that this season.

I received a survey from MLB yesterday that took less than 10 minutes to complete. Maybe some of you received it, too. One of the questions asked if I'm enjoying, or paying attention to, the season more this year than last year. I told them I was because the Pirates are demonstrating that better times are now in view. To me, the reason sits in the GM's chair.

I know the record doesn't indicate anything special but this season was never about winning games. And I know that many nights it feels as though the players have to try to compete in spite of Shelton. But I think we all see there's a difference between the past several years and 2022.
