Sending in Hembree is basically waving the white flag. He's as useless as Keller

Keller is not an MLB caliber pitcher. Even the worst pitchers have some scoreless innings and throw some nice pitches. It's consistency that makes pitchers successful. Keller has the occasional good pitch and the occasional scoreless inning within a body of unacceptable work. But the only thing consistent about him is his poor pitching. When I become Emperor of the Universe (I've already completed the paperwork), my first decree will be to DFA Keller. But I will find work for him as my rickshaw driver. ;)

wow, neither Keller or Hembree look like they should be Pirates all season.

Its not like the Bucs haven't given Keller chances. I guess there isn't much problem keeping him in rotation since the team is so needy for starters but he is painful to watch.

So true. Hembree has now surrendered 5 HRs in just 12 innings. Now that's efficient! So that's nearly a HR every other inning. In fact, despite pitching only 12 innings, Hembree is tied with Keller for the most HRs allowed.

Maybe he could pitch BP for the Pirate hitters and boost their confidence.

This was Keller's 5th very bad start in 7 outings. When he starts there is almost no chance of winning.

Which is why they keep running him out there. “No chance of winning” is how the Pirates are going to sink lower in the standings and get closer to a higher draft pick. Mitch Keller’s leading them to that promised land.

Let's see.

Mitch Keller.  Would even the Pirates score off him?

They'd better.  If you can't score off Keller, who can you score off?

Mitch Keller.  If he can't keep Pirates hitters from scoring, he might as well head on over to Japan.

I would pay to see it.

Won't be long before we catch the Reds for the Negative Run Differential lead.
