Outside of Cervelli this is turning into a very formidable line up. The Bucs are going to surprise a lot of people. If they can get their bullpen squared away I might have to pump my preseason win total from 84 to 90.

I put a sizable bet in Vegas on the Pirates win total being over the line which was 73. Keep it up Bucs. I want to go back in the fall and collect!

Seems like the ball/strike umpiring in every game so far has been horrendous.

Let's hope Taillon can go 7.

He did it. Good call Bobster. Jamo is rolling.

In other news, did anyone see the video of Molina shoving the umpire today? If not, you will. Hopefully that will cost him some time.

This Dickerson guy is pretty good. Has a terrible arm, but really looks to play good defense to me with the range and glove. I was expecting him to be rough defensively.

I didn't expect Hurdle to give him the chance to finish the one-hitter.

Taillon with a one hit shut out in 110 pitches. And the hit was to the opposing pitcher. That's a great performance. It saves the bullpen big time.

Onto Chicago. Let's keep it going.

I love the CG shutout. I think a CG is a great confidence booster to a young pitcher to know he didn't need any BP help. Too often pitchers are removed in the 8th or 9th while pitching effectively and it leaves them wondering if they could have gotten the job done without help or if they would have stumbled in the late innings. Even if this CG turns out to be a rarity for Taillon, he now knows he can enter the late innings with confidence regardless of whether they let him finish or not.

I've been impressed with Hurdle and the use of the bench so far. Freese started one game. Rodriguez and Frazier got their starts due to an injury. I hope he keeps it that way going forward.
