MLB just published their Top 50 prospects for this years draft.
A couple of observations:
They have the highly touted Elijah Green rated at #5
He was the consensus #1 due to his power and speed.
Concern with his strikeouts have listed as a Boom or Bust prospect
Kumar Rocker is listed as #30
He also was a former #1 that fell from grace when the scouts thougt he had been overworked and lost some velocity on his fastball. Recall the Mets were unable to sign him at #10 last year
Wonder if the Pirates will take the same strategy of selecting a more signable prospect at #4 and using the savings to lure better players in the-other rounds. I would not mind if they took a flyer on Rocker paying him significantly less than 4th position dollars

I watched him pitch in the College Playoffs where he struggled quite a bit.

2022 MLB Draft
Baseball America has Pittsburgh picking Brooks Lee a shortstop from Cal Poly. He seems like a excellent prospect.
2022 MLB Draft
Kumar Rocker has signed with the Tri-City ValleyCats of the Frontier League.

It seems the Wild Things will be hosting the ValleyCats for three beginning May 24 and three more beginning June 7.

"4. Pirates: Brooks Lee, SS, Cal Poly
Johnson would be the high school bat the Pirates could look at if the other three prep hitters are gone. Lee is the best college bat in the class and Pittsburgh could make it three straight first-round picks spent on an advanced hitter." - Mayo

Mike Piazza, 1390th pick in the draft. Now that's getting bang for your draft.
