That's why rules like this, the three batter minimum, the DH, automatic walks, and Interleague play are all unnecessary and make the game worse. But that's just me.
Ties are actually part of the game and long established, granted in rare exception. Avoiding ties is actually a contributor to this contrived stuff...in every single sport except basketball. Look at what happens in the NFL with overtime. Sure each team now gets the ball...except if the team getting it first scores a touchdown. And hockey? Because they felt too many teams were playing for a tie when the game winded down to get the guaranteed point, they instituted OT. When that didn't work, they added a shootout at the end of OT if still tied.....and in OT, it went from 4 players to now 3.
Just my thoughts. Ties in baseball look odd, but they go waaaay back, so IMHO, that is acceptable. This is only for DH's, and I would make them play the full tilt in game 1, and to 12 innings in game 2 before calling it a tie. I think that's reasonable, especially if the first game went into extras also.

True. Ties are already a part of MLB. The Pirates had one as recently as 2016 (1-1 vs Cubs 9/29/16) when it rained after 6 innings. They played 2 ties in 1989. The franchise has played 140 ties. In the modern era when rain prevents the continuation of a game after 5 innings, it is recorded as a tie and an extra game is usually played.
However in 2016 the game was not replayed and the team ended up 78-83 but credited with 162 games. MLB standings don't reflect ties but "baseballreference.com" includes them in a team's history. So they show the 2016 Pirates as playing 162 games and finishing 78-83-1. The 1960 Pirates had a tie and replayed the game and were credited with 155 games in a 154-game season.
The term "replayed" is generally used regarding tie games but is inaccurate. All statistics count. If you look at 1960 team stats the pitchers account for 155 starts. Don Hoak is credited with 155 games played. So while "replayed" suggests the game was played over, the tie stands as an official game and the teams simply add an additional game to their schedule in order to have the total of wins and losses equal the number of scheduled games (so that standings are determined by full rather than half games). But the people who played or watched the game know the game had a beginning and an end and resulted in a tie regardless of whether an additional game is later added to the schedule.
So MLB is perfectly willing to have tie games (if forced to end due to rain after 5 innings) but would rather change the rules of the game in order to avoid playing too many extra innings. I don't see a problem with ending in a tie and not adding games to the schedule. If a tie results in a team finishing 1/2 games ahead or behind in the standings, so be it. They could play a maximum of 12 innings of real baseball (no ghost runners), which is one more time thru the lineup, and call it a tie if it hasn't been won by then.

I just don't like ties, Surge. Games are competitions meant to be won. It wouldn't feel right to me to see a baseball game unresolved, or to make-up a way that's outside the rules just to bring the game to a premature close.
As for the other sports, I don't have enough interest in any of them to care what they do. The NFL began changing it's rules about 25 years ago so fast and often that they drove me away. I've been grateful ever since.

I didn't read back far enough to understand exactly how you get your metrics here, but I think you are going to have to finally give the Pirates a 1 for Goodwin. His projections on Baseball Reference are almost identical to Mazara. Sorry to burst your bubble.
Mazara PA: 448 BA: .254 R/HR/RBI: 57/15/60 OPS: .741
Goodwin: PA: 467 BA: .241 R/HR/RBI: 59/17/55 OPS: .749
