Roansey with a quick one, two, three inning in the 4th. Score remains, 2-1 D’Backs.

Bucs go quickly in the 4th. Not much going on with the bats since Friday night. Onto the 5th, 2-1 bad guys.

No hits thru 4.
It's obvious MLB has instructed umps to expand the strike zone this year. Every ump does it in every game. Much more so than in recent years when there had been more of an emphasis on getting the calls right. It speeds up the game but also compromises the integrity of the game. I've also noticed more appeals on checked swings are being called strikes, even when replays show the bat did not cross the plate. All part of the agenda to speed up games. I'm ok with the rule changes that speed up the game. But the collusion with the umpires is bad for baseball.

A walk, sac bunt, and a single give the Snakes a 3-1 lead after four and a half.

It also runs contrary to having more offense in the game. Maybe they did it to balance out the other changes.

Joe and Castro both single with one out. Tucupita up.

Marcano comes through, doubles home a pair to tie the game at 3.

Wehner said it, but that was a fantastic AB from Marcano. One of the best I've seen from any Pirates hitter all year.

Marcano is looking like a pretty solid young ballplayer. He's looked good at SS too.

I don't think he's a starter on a good team. Probably a good utility infielder, though. Can fill in at 2B, SS, and 3B.
