Not ready to come off the D/L. Still dealing with shoulder issues. Could we possibly of received some damaged goods in the Cole trade?

There had to be physicals. He pitched in the World Series.

There should be no rush with Brault and Glasnow. There are even some spots open on the 40-man Roster to call up or bring in someone.

They keep assuring us it's not a serious problem, just a muscle strain. It's possible they don't want him pitching in the really cold weather we've been having. Maybe by the time they hit Miami he'll be ready to rejoin the team. Or at least wander by to say hello.

If nothing else, even if fully healthy today at this point he'll need to build up innings. He hasn't pitched in quite a while and didn't get much ST.

This was posted in MLB Trade Rumors last night:

Pirates righty Joe Musgrove is eligible to come off the 10-day disabled list Monday, but that’s not going to happen, manager Clint Hurdle told Jerry Dipaola of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and other reporters Sunday. Musgrove, who’s dealing with a muscle strain in his right shoulder, will first need to make multiple rehab starts, per Hurdle. Right now, though, he’s in a “no-throw” period, the skipper revealed

Well, hopefully he gets fixed up soon.   Extended shoulder pain after rest and throwing again?  Hopefully this doesn't drag on.. and end up costing him next year needlessly. Shoulder's are the toughest right? Labrum / rotator cuffs are tough business. at least a full year after surgery.

I also hope he gets healthy. However, I'm not disappointed that there a starter missing. This gives us a chance to see Brault get a shot in the rotation. Between Brault/Musgrove/Glasnow, they all of potential and reason to be in the rotation. I'm not anxious to see Musgrove get back only to put Brault back in the bullpen.

Let's talk about trading Nova...

Yes please. I wanted Nova traded in the offseason. I think he is fine as a 4/5, but I really wanted to see some of our internal options. Honestly I want Brault to stay in the rotation. I want to see Glasnow succeed for an extended period out of the BP before I try anything different with him. I would also use Musgrove out of the pen where he was most effective.
