Re: The Departed
So far Del la Cruz has done very little with Atlanta. He is hitting.083 with 6 strikeouts in 11 at bats. When Pittsburgh got him last year I figured he would add some much needed thump. I was sure wrong, and now he continues to strikeout a ton.

Priester didn’t last long with Boston. I guess the Pirates will have to face him now that he is in our Division.

He'll probably beat us four times.fjk090852-7 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 3:13 pmPriester didn’t last long with Boston. I guess the Pirates will have to face him now that he is in our Division.

That would not surprise me, but not just the Pirates gave up on him, so did Boston. We all question Pittsburgh’s development of players, but now another organization is letting him go. Could both organizations be wrong?Doc wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 3:21 pmHe'll probably beat us four times.fjk090852-7 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 3:13 pmPriester didn’t last long with Boston. Re: The Departed
I don't think Boston gave up on him. They get a young player, a Competitive Balance A pick and cash or another player. Boston also has gotten a lot more pitching over the off season making him not needed. I don't know if that is equivalent of Yorke but hopefully he is going to be good with the Bucs.fjk090852-7 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 3:35 pmThat would not surprise me, but not just the Pirates gave up on him, so did Boston. Re: The Departed
Quinn Priester pitched 5 shutout innings for the Brewers last night. In 2 starts, he's pitched 10 innings with 7 hits and 1 ER. ERA 0.90.
Shane Baz has made 3 starts pitching 19 innings with 12 hits, 3 ERs, 27 Ks.
Gee, why can't the Pirates get pitchers like that?

Don't be disgruntled. Be gruntled.

Re: The Departed
You'd think with numbers like those that they've made all five of those starts against the Pirates.Bobster wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 10:39 am Quinn Priester pitched 5 shutout innings for the Brewers last night. In 2 starts, he's pitched 10 innings with 7 hits and 1 ER. ERA 0.90.
