Thoughts After 5 Games

Tonight we will watch Thomas Harrington make his first Major League start. Probably in the next day or so Alexander Canario will join the team. My solution to allow both players to join and remain on the team. First you dfa Bae to open a spot on the roster. Next the Pirates should place Bednar on the IL, put Carmen M. back in the bullpen, and keep Harrington as the #5 starter. With an IL stint and later a rehab assignment the Pirates could keep Bednar off the roster until late April.

Read an interesting article written by Paul Zeise today. Don't always
agree with some of his articles but today he was spot on. He said why
do we waste time on guys like Pham and Frazier who aren't going to get any better
and send young guys like Yorke and Cooke to Indy who have a decent chance to get better.
He goes on to say that the fans could live with the growing pains.

I was very surprised that Yorke was not recalled when Gonzales went on the IL. I would like for him to come up, and play second base regularly, and then Frazier would remain as utility player. While Gonzales is out, let’s find out what the Pirates have with Yorke.

This team needs a shakeup and fast. Send down Bae and Valdez and bring up Yorke and Canario and get them in the lineup ASAP.
