Cots wasn't too far off on any of the guys that signed. Looking at their predictions for Oviedo and Santana, there must be not be that much of a difference between the ask/offer price. But I guess in the world of huge numbers, the guys at the bottom end, 100-200K is a big difference.

Guess being a 3 time batting champ isn't all it's cracked up to be. Luis Arraez settles for 14 million. He was super 2, it was his 4th Arb year. Call me shocked, but that was the prediction for him.

Surprised Dylan Cease only got 13.75 million. I thought he was considered one of the top pitchers in the game.

Both free agents after this season, I guess I'll get to see how valuable they really are.

I'll never figure out how those arbitration numbers are figured out.

And as I post above, I read on the MLB site that lo and behold, both of those guys are in an article about 12 players looking for a big walk year.

I see Schwarber will be a FA after this season. You all don't think.....nah. Him at PNC Park? That Clemente wall there? Slap me out of it.

Skubal signs for 10.15 in his second year of arbitration. He made 2.65 in his first year of arbitration. Of course, you know why I'm putting this out there. He's a good barometer for Skenes right now.

Surprised they didn't try and bring Borucki back. Maybe they still will. Welcome aboard Caleb!
Caleb Ferguson appears on the surface to be a good signing. With the lack of lefty pitching on the roster I am surprised the Pirates are thinking about stretching him out in ST to see if he could start. He would appear to be an asset to the bullpen. Also I would not be surprised if Borucki would sign a minor league contract with an invitation to ST. Since he was out the majority of 2024 I can’t see the Pirates offering him major league contract. Even with a minor league contract they can monitor him in ST to see if he is free from any injuries.

That was surprising to me too. I'm wondering if that's just something they floated to get him to sign?
