Unbelievable. Rickey was certainly one of the greatest. So sad he didn't get to live a longer life and truly get to enjoy his legacy.

He was the very definition of a dynamic player. So intimidating offensively. His walks and singles were quickly turned into doubles routinely. And his power for a lead-off guy was extraordinary. The number of runs he scored was my favorite of his stats. And the number of years he played seems impossible. RIP, Rickey.

MLB Network has been running on loop all night an ad hoc tribute featuring many of his friends from MLB, guys he grew up with, really well done. I never realized the amount of guys that came from the Oakland area that became MLB stars, of course Pops being the patriarch of them all.
