I think Hague might be a good choice. He isn't a coach who was let go by his previous team. He was the assistant hitting coach with the Jays, and he moved up by joining the Pirates. He is still young , so his advice to the young Pirate hitters my well be received. I am happy that Haines is not the hitting coach. A change was necessary.

According to Noah Hiles, Brent Strom has been hired as assistant pitching coach. He will remain in dugout during games. Another coach will be added for bullpen. This is interesting because Strom was the pitching coach for the DBacks this year. We have two main pitching coaches in the dugout during games in 2025.

These two new coaches make the staff much better than it was when the season ended. Now it is time to begin to update the roster with some new talent.

Lael Lockhart, LHP (No. 26) Det
Doug Nikhazy, LHP (No. 24) Cle

Luis De Avila, LHP (No. 15) Atl

The list above was copied/pasted from a list of all top 30 prospects that need to be added to 40-man rosters or risk being lost in the Rule 5 draft. Pirate management should watch this list closely, and pick up a much-needed lefty from this list.

It's interesting that the bucs have two Pitching Coaches in the dugout but don't have a
First baseman

“Interesting” is one way to describe it. I’d describe it as wrongheaded. Or misguided.

One move I made was buying a pack of those baseball cards hoping I get the Skenes one the Pirates are offering the deal to. Livvy Dunne upped the ante, you get to spend a game with her in her suite.

I'm hoping to get the card, and I know already what I'll do:

I'll take requests for games. I don't know if I have 30 years, but I'm banking on at least a good run within that realm. Will get a chance to fill every request with the people I know. It won't even take a full season, I don't know that many people. But certainly there's a few on this site. We can all watch each other on the broadcasts, and see who picks their nose, arrives late, leaves early, turns their backs on the pierogi race, dances, and count how many trips to the snack bar for candy, hot dogs, nachos, and pop they make.

IDK how the softball game will work, but that will be mostly going to kids I know here that play ball, and of course Mister Man, who has never played ball, but who cares, it's one game. It's for 30 people, so there will be a couple of adults invited. For certain Doc gets an invite to that.

The ST tour, batting practice, and meet and greet, of course I'll be taking Mister Man, and hopefully I could do it and also be able to go to the Daytona 500, it's just a couple hours drive across Florida.

The two Skenes jerseys, one I'll keep for Mister Man, the other will go to Mrs. Wizard.

The game with Ms. Dunne, of course I'll go, and depending on how many I get to bring, I already have a list of names. I'm guessing, it's only one person, but who knows, those suites have 19 people.

If you're buying those cards and win it, remember I invited you to some of it!
