Official Game Thread - 9/19 - Bucs @ Cards

Post by Possum »

Bucs

1 SS I. Kiner-Falefa R
2 DH B. Reynolds S
3 CF Oneil Cruz L
4 1B Rowdy Tellez L
5 2B N. Gonzales R
6 RF B. De La Cruz R
7 LF Nick Yorke R
8 C Y. Grandal S
9 3B Jared Triolo R
SP Luis Ortiz R

Cards

1 SS Masyn Winn R
2 DH A. Burleson L
3 1B P. Goldschmidt R
4 3B N. Arenado R
5 2B B. Donovan L
6 LF L. Nootbaar L
7 RF J. Walker R
8 C Pedro Pages R
9 CF M. Siani L
Erick Fedde R

The Bucs finally have a SP that will give them a "chance" to win the game and arsehole Shelty refuses to run out a competitive hitting lineup. Maybe it's because guys like Cook have learned in another team's system and he doesn't want to embarass Andy Haines. Thanks, Shelty you are a real jerk.

A one out triple and a sac fly puts the Bucs up 1-0. Good to see they didn't strand Nicky G after a one out trip-trip-triple. They didn't even move over IKF when he led off the game with a double

Yikes, only three posts in an Official Game Thread! Can’t say the whole organization doesn’t deserve it. One reaps what one sows.

You got that right, doc.
However, two high lights from last night was a strong performance by Ortiz
and a diving catch by Cruz in the first inning

I think I watched through the trip-trip-triple. I usually mute the sound but for whatever reason didn't last night. That sort of thing gets old quick.

I just read that was Nick G 10th winning rbi this season. During that awful losing streak Nick was on the IL. There was a game or two during that stretch that a base hit by one of the Bucs could have resulted in a walkoff win. I was at one of those games when the bases were loaded in the 9th with no outs. I told my wife if Nick G was there he would have had the game winning hit. I think Joe and Williams made two of the big outs that inning. One or two more wins wouldn’t put the Bucs in the postseason, but a win is always better than a loss when the winning run is 90 feet away.

Take umbrage with me if you want, but this board seems to be much more active when the Pirates lose.

No, we're all out of umbrage. Expecting a new shipment next week. :D
