Official Game Thread - 9/2 - Bucs @ Cubbies

Post by Possum »

Bucs

1 2B N. Gonzales R
2 LF B. Reynolds S
3 CF Oneil Cruz L
4 DH A. McCutchen R
5 1B Rowdy Tellez L
6 RF B. De La Cruz R
7 3B Jared Triolo R
8 C Henry Davis R
9 SS A. Williams R
SP Jared Jones R

Cubbies

1 LF Ian Happ S
2 1B M. Busch L
3 DH Seiya Suzuki R
4 RF C. Bellinger L
5 3B I. Paredes R
6 2B Nico Hoerner R
7 SS D. Swanson R
8 CF P. Crow-Armstrong L
9 C Miguel Amaya R
SP Jameson Taillon R

Shelton has made a somewhat sensible lineup for the game. I would have liked IKF at SS but he needs a day off. Can Shelty manage a game to win and not to just go through the motions?

The question is, Possum, does it really matter? Some of the players are just going through the motions.
The vibes seem so much different this year. Last year we were happy when the team won 76. I remember
doing the countdown. This year just seems like a big letdown. Well, at least Surg can look forward to give away day.
Nutting has probably cut back on that also.

Instead of the jersey, you get a 4 dollar off coupon for bleacher seating

Pirates will take game 1 of series . :) That lineup still needs work, like adding Yorke at 3b. Davis needs to have a big game .

The team had a day off last Thursday-5 days ago. This irrational obsession with resting players doesn't seem to make them better.

I’m racking my brain to think of just one good reason to ever start Alika Williams in a game. I got nothin’.

The Pirates' 2nd inning is not described so that Hannah can interview Shelton's former babysitter.
