Check out the inside-the-park HR hit by Pete Crow-Armstrong last night. His speed is other-worldly. But he ran hard right out of the box and that was the reason he made it safely.
Pretty exciting, he went full on Pete Rose at home plate with the flying head first slide. What the heck was the right fielder doing though? didn't look like he had any urgency, especially with the throw.
That's the difference sometimes in what keeps a manager's job on a bad team. Saw another replay from that game with a ball to left fielder, and same thing, the player wasn't exactly in a rush to get the ball in. Marlins look to have a bunch of guys who've checked out already. That's the kind of stuff that could get Schumaker fired.
The contrast between a player who is doing it right versus those who are doing it wrong is amazing.

Very cool! I know of a few Pirates who probably would have got a double if they felt like running.

Nobody turns a double into a single better than the Pirates.
Danny Jansen will become the first player in history to play for both teams in the same game when the Blue Jays and Red Sox play Monday, to finish a suspended game.
Jansen was with the Blue Jays and in the lineup for them when the game was suspended, he was traded to the Red Sox, and will be in their lineup on Monday. So his name will appear twice in the box score.

The Brewers have same record as the Phillies. Shocking.
Present moment Dodgers have most wins at 77. They have 33 games to play. They have to go 23-10 for 100 wins. Winning 100 games doesn't guarantee you'll win the WS but it is pretty damn impressive.
Our own Bucs did it twice. To bad it was before the roaring 20's.
