I spent a couple of days down at the LLWS with my youngest grandson. Boy, those kids...especially the overseas teams...really crowd the plate, getting right up to the line of the batter's box, with arms hanging over the plate.

Maybe the bottom six of our lineup can do this...take their lumps...or draw walks...anything to get on base.

Keller really filling up the strike zone through two innings. Keep it up, Mitch. No score heading to the third.

Wow, what a fantastic job by Bradford to get thru this Pirate lineup without allowing a base runner.

(Although I suspect his grandmother might have the same success.)

both pitchers perfect through 3 innings.

This is like the Anthem standoffs. Who's going to surrender first?

Keller keeps it going. 35 pitches, 29 strikes through three. Still no score.

Just watched Williams bat and his stat line has 3 rbi. I looked back at some previous box scores and Williams had two rbi on the game on March 31 vs the Marlins. I know he is a decent fielder, but how can a team which lacks hitters keep playing this guy.

It took until the top of the fourth, but we finally have synchronization.

The genius of Shelton (or Cherington): Joe takes a half swing and triples! Oops, a retroactive double.
