10 Losses In A Row

Post by fjk090852-7 »

I cannot believe the Pirates have been swept three series in a row. It is hard to believe a week and a half ago they were a couple games out of the Wild Card. This team is dreadful, and I for one cannot watch them play. Tomorrow is a scheduled day off, and something must be done to get this team focused on the last few weeks of the season. There should be the firing of the manager and or hitting coach as well as players being designated for assignment, with replacement players being brought up from AAA. Every year during this 5 year rebuild there have been lengthy losing streaks which cannot happen for a team which intends to play meaningful games in October. It is time for some serious changes.

I've asked a team of consultants to assess the magnitude of the Pittsburgh Baseball Club's problems:

I was jotting some thoughts down earlier, but didn't think it was appropriate to put in a GDT, so this one works perfect to dovetail on your comments.

First order of business is to DFA Grandal, Taylor, and Tellez. They have been paid most of their salary as it is. Give them a chance to catch on with a contender and a shot at the playoffs. There is no doubt in my mind all three would be picked up, and the organization can start moving guys up the ladder. None of those three will be back next season. Let them get on.

Just one problem, Surge. That all makes sense. Sadly, the Pirates don’t operate sensibly.

I know the Bucs don’t operate sensibly, but I will be shocked if some type of move is not made prior to Fridays game. A move that is larger than bringing back for example Hunter Stratton to replace Ryder Ryan.

You would be shocked because you think sensibly. A lucid person in charge of the Pirates would indeed make changes aimed at using the remaining six weeks to get a jump on 2025. Hanging on to players who won’t be here next season makes no sense, which is why I won’t be surprised if there is no big news before Friday’s game. The next time the Pirates do the right thing will be the first time.
