Re: Official Game Thread - 8/2 - Diamondbacks @ Bucs
Has there ever been a line-up in the history of Major League Baseball that had three players with the letter "z" in their names, all batting in consecutive order?

Thanks, 3p3 for getting this thread started.
Let's Go Bucs
Re: Official Game Thread - 8/2 - Diamondbacks @ Bucs
Bucs have to focus on taking series. They have their big 3 going, they can't have their bats disappear, or have "bad days" on the mound. The Loo has lost two games in a row, and tonight would be a great start in starting to leap over the Cards. Even more important, they can't afford to lose any ground to Arizona. They're 2.5 games back of them, and need to at least even the season series.
This is the time you feel a sweep really has to occur. It's still just early August. But the Bucs have to start taking control of season series with some of these teams. They are already on the outside looking in with Atlanta, New York, and San Francisco.
Snakes are coming in hot, scoring 31 runs against the Nationals. At least the Pirates are going to dodge facing Gallen, but Pfaadt has been their best pitcher. However, the Bucs scored 5 runs against him in a 9-5 loss, Priester's last game for the Bucs.
Ortiz goes tonight. He had a ND in the Bucs 4-3 loss in AZ, where they gave up a 3-0 early lead, failing to add on going 1-11 with RISP and some questionable bullpen management. He labored through 5 plus innings, and needs to be the better version of himself tonight.
Still no IKF, sure would be nice to have him in the lineup and not Triolo. IKF or not, I honestly feel the key to the Pirates success offensively the rest of the way is Hayes and/or Taylor putting it together and providing some pop. I'm hoping with no Suwinski, Taylor can take this and run with it.
