Just what BOB needed an injection of cash due to a Skenes-led sell-out tonight. Unfortunately, Skelty has come to believe that Grandal is the one and only catcher for Skenes.

Regarding Grandal, I think it's Skenes who prefers throwing to Grandal, who has caught all but 2 of his starts. It's hard to argue with the results. And Bart has become the #1 catcher, starting 10 of the past 13 games. So if Bart gets a day off when Skenes starts, I can live with that.

Glad to see Palacios starting. And maybe Triolo can provide some offense at 3B. Maybe not (he's hitting just .205 and hasn't played in 10 days), but it's worth a try. Hayes isn't doing anything anyway.

Triolo’s a mystery. His play last year was really promising but, for whatever reason, he hasn’t been able to match that let alone show improvement. Personally, I think it’s been a lack of steady play, where he would’ve been allowed to stay on the field even when he struggled. I understand the team couldn’t afford that luxury but perhaps the Pirates would have a better player today if he played everyday from the beginning. Maybe he should be sent to Indy for the remainder of the season and be allowed to play everyday. He’s basically lost half a year so far.

I was really high on Triolo to start the season.
