Averaging 15 pitches per inning is actually good.
Gets them 90 through 6 and a chance to go 7

Ortiz with another great pitching effort. Unfortunately the weak Pirates bats have only put one run across so far.
BC needs to leave Chicago with Robert JR in a Pirates uniform.
We can’t keep hoping to win games 1-0

Ortiz effective again today: five and two thirds, one run, four hits, one walk, and five strike outs. His ERA is at 2.84 going into the Break. Gotta love what he’s contributed.

As usual, performance never affects Shelton‘s decisions. He would like the player to lay down a sacrifice bunt. The fact that the player can’t bunt has no bearing on that decision. Even at two strikes, the decision doesn’t change.
