Official Game Thread - 6/13 - Bucs @ Cards

Bucs

3B K. Hayes R
DH B. Reynolds S
SS Oneil Cruz L
RF E. Olivares R
1B Rowdy Tellez L
2B Jared Triolo R
LF J. Suwinski L
C Y. Grandal S
CF M. Taylor R
SP Mitch Keller R

Cards

SS Masyn Winn R
RF A. Burleson L
1B P. Goldschmidt R
2B Nolan Gorman L
DH N. Arenado R
LF B. Donovan L
3B Jose Fermin R
C Pedro Pages R
CF Mike Siani L
SP Lance Lynn R

Shelty screws things up again. Why not Gonzales at 2B? Reynolds as DH? It's a toss-up between Suwinski and Taylor in CF and Suwinski and Olivares in RF. Why not Henry behind the plate? The kid needs to play.
Let's Go Bucs

Is Shelton trying to win this series?
To me it’s inexcusable to sit Nick Gonzales.
Especially when your bottom 3 hitters are below the Mendoza line

Davis hit a HR so his reward is to observe from the bench

There needs to be a sense of urgency especially for games within the division. We have to have our best possible lineup in those games. Meanwhile BC must get some additional help and I’m not talking about picking up someone else’s castoffs that are not ML quality. I still cannot understand the decision to DFA Hernandez only to pick up trash from another organization.
BC is just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic again!

I certainly agree with you on Gonzales. Teams best hitter- Has been excellent
in the field. Shelton is a complete ass. Not going to watch the game.

Performance and circumstances never seem to factor into Shelton/Cherington decisions. They seem to believe that frequent rest is very important, so it doesn't matter that Gonzales is hitting well and others aren't or that it's the rubber game of a division series. For them, it's all about adhering to their philosophy and formulae. Everything else is unimportant.

Bucs are down 2-0 and have only scored 2 runs in each of the 2 previous games. I'm not optimistic that they can score 3.

Naturally, Nick’s replacement Triolo has come up empty with runners on base.
