Sean Newcomb of the Athletics was credited with the win last night against the Twins without throwing a pitch. He entered a tied game with two outs in the top of the 8th and quickly picked off the runner at first. The A’s scored two runs in the bottom of the 8th and then Mason Miller retired the Twins in the 9th.

CORRECTION: Newcomb did throw two pitches to the one batter he faced before picking off the base runner. So he did not officially pitch to a hitter. I think I need to take some remedial reading classes.
