Bucs

DH A. McCutchen R
LF B. Reynolds S
1B Connor Joe R
SS Oneil Cruz L
3B K. Hayes R
2B N. Gonzales R
RF E. Olivares R
CF M. Taylor R
C Henry Davis R
SP Bailey Falter L

Cards

SS Masyn Winn R
DH A. Burleson L
1B P. Goldschmidt R
3B N. Arenado R
2B Nolan Gorman L
C Ivan Herrera R
LF B. Donovan L
RF D. Carlson S
CF Mike Siani L
SP Sonny Gray R

Falter is not a Skenes, and Gray is a decent pitcher. If Bailey can be his usual self maybe the Bucs' bats with catch fire tonight and score some runs.

I never like seeing Taylor's name in the lineup. He has long track record of not being able to hit. He's now at .198 and it's unlikely there will be too much improvement. He's a fine OFer but his defense doesn't compensate for a dead spot in the batting order from an outfielder. Suwinski isn't much but I's rather see him get the ABs to hopefully get better. Taylor's been playing 11 years. He's not getting better.

Gonna be a bit tough tonight. We seem to be staying around .500. It's like 1 step forward 2 back. I keep hoping to get to 1 game under but a loss puts us at 3 and we have to start over again.

I predicted we'd be .500 after the Rockies series so I really need a win tonight. And I'm also going with smoking the Reds at PNC to go over .500. After all, what are we without hope. 8-)

Stinky start for our Bucs as we have second and third with nobody out and Joe, Cruz and Hayes all strike out. I’d really prefer Cruz do his striking out in Indianapolis for the foreseeable future.

Falter pitches a perfect first. No score yet.

We should no longer be surprised by displays like that. It’s who we are, who we have been for years.
